Sony Interactive Entertainment has confirmed a release date and price for its Pulse Elevate wireless speakers. They launch on 12 November 2026, priced at $219.99. Pre-orders open on 1 September.
The Elevate is the first desktop speaker Sony has built under the PlayStation brand. It sits alongside the Pulse Elite headset and Pulse Explore earbuds, which use the same planar magnetic driver technology and PlayStation Link wireless connection.
What’s in the box
Each speaker contains a planar magnetic driver and a built-in woofer. Planar magnetic drivers are the type more commonly found in high-end studio monitors; they reproduce the full audible spectrum rather than boosting a narrow frequency range. The woofer handles bass.
The right speaker houses a microphone with AI-enhanced noise rejection for voice chat, so you can skip the headset during multiplayer sessions if you want to.
Connectivity runs two ways.
- PlayStation Link, Sony’s proprietary low-latency lossless wireless protocol, handles the gaming signal via a USB-C adapter
- Bluetooth covers everything else: your phone, your TV, or a second device running simultaneously alongside the PlayStation Link source.
The speakers sit on charging docks at your desk and detach for portable use. At the time of publishing, battery life is unspecified.
Each unit tilts to adjust the angle, and EQ, sidetone, volume, and mic mute are all adjustable through the PS5 or PC system menus.
The speakers will come in Midnight Black, and White. White will be availale while stocks last from PlayStation Direct and select retailers.
Will it be available in SA?
The Pulse Elevate is listed on the South African PlayStation website, which is a reasonable indicator it will ship here. Sony has not announced a Rand price.
At today’s exchange rate of roughly R16.18 to the dollar, $219.99 converts to about R3,560 on paper.
That is the straight conversion and is likely not what you will pay since South African retail prices for imported electronics account for import duties, VAT, distributor margins, and the fact that the rand is rarely where it is today by the time a product actually arrives on shelves.
For context, the Pulse Elite headset retailed in the US for $149.99. The Pulse Explore earbuds launched at $199.99. Both products landed in South Africa at prices meaningfully above what a straight conversion would suggest.
Pre-orders open 1 September via PlayStation Direct and participating retailers. If you are waiting for local pricing before committing, that is probably the moment it appears.
