Privacy Policy

At TechNation.News, we believe in transparency: whether we’re publishing editorial policies, building in public, or telling you what kind of data we collect when you visit this site.

We’re not here to stalk you, sell your soul to ad networks, or feed your inbox spam sandwiches. We’ve got better things to do.

Tech Nation News Privacy Policy

Here’s what we do (and don’t) collect, how we use it, and how you can opt out if you’re not vibing.

What we collect (and why)

When you visit TechNation.News, we collect some basic data, mostly so we can see what’s working, what’s flopping, and how we can make things better.

This includes:

  • Pages you view
  • How long you stick around
  • What device or browser you’re using
  • Your general location (think city or country, not your home address)
  • Where you came from (e.g. Google, Twitter, TikTok, etc.)

We collect this via tools like Google Analytics, which gives us helpful stats (not your life story).

We do not collect personally identifiable info unless you give it to us directly.

If you give us your email

We’re working on launching a newsletter soon. When we do, we’ll collect your name and email only if you subscribe.

That information will only be used to send you updates, and you’ll be able to unsubscribe at any time.

If you’ve previously subscribed to Tech Takes with Kahla (once part of a publication we’ve since outgrown), there’s a chance you’ll hear from us again. Same voice, same chaos, just now under our own banner.

If you’re not into it anymore, you’ll have an easy opt-out.

We’ll never share or sell your data. Ever. That’s gross.

Cookies: not the good kind

Yes, we use cookies. Sadly, not chocolate chip.

These are browser cookies that help us:

  • Remember your preferences
  • Improve site speed and performance
  • Track anonymised usage (via Google Analytics)
  • Eventually, support a better user experience once we roll out newsletters, memberships, etc.

By using this site, you’re giving us permission to store cookies on your device. But if you don’t want that, you can disable cookies in your browser settings. (We won’t be offended.)

Tools we use

Here are the main tools and services that might collect or process your data through this site:

  • Google Analytics (site usage tracking)
  • Google Forms (for feedback and submissions)
  • Mailchimp / Beehiiv / Substack (future newsletters)
  • Elementor / WordPress plugins (website features + SEO tools)
  • AudioNotes, Fireflies, Otter.ai (if you engage with any audio features or transcriptions beyond our website. For examples, in meetings.)

All of these services have their own privacy policies, and we’ve chosen platforms that take data security seriously.

What we don’t do

  • We don’t spam.
  • We don’t sell your info.
  • We don’t track your every move.
  • We don’t believe “consent” means hiding things in a 30-page T&C doc.

Want your info deleted?

If you’ve submitted something to us (like your name, email, or feedback) and want it removed, just email us at editor@technation.news or daniel@technation.news.

No hoops. No drama.

Questions?

Still unsure about something?

Email editor@technation.news and we’ll explain it like actual humans.
