Vehicle maintenance costs continue to rise in South Africa, putting significant pressure on car owners. In response to these challenges, Avo Auto Care, a new service from Nedbank’s Avo Auto division, is now available to assist MFC vehicle finance clients in keeping their vehicles in top condition.

The cost of essential vehicle components like tyres, brakes, and shock absorbers has been steadily increasing, making it difficult for many South Africans to afford necessary repairs. Avo Auto Care aims to alleviate this burden by offering MFC clients the option to finance the replacement of tyres, marking a first-of-its-kind offering for Avo Auto in South Africa.

Practical, innovative solutions

“Avo Auto Care represents our commitment to providing practical, innovative solutions that address the real-world challenges faced by South African vehicle owners,” said Julie Vetter, Executive of Avo Auto at Nedbank. Vetter emphasized that the initiative is designed with customer convenience in mind, offering a seamless online application process for MFC clients.

The service has partnered with Supa Quick, a leading tyre and auto spares brand in South Africa, to manage the booking and fitment process for clients. Once an MFC client applies online, the Avo Team coordinates with the nearest Supa Quick branch to ensure the client’s vehicle is safely fitted with new tyres.

“We understand that maintaining a vehicle can be a financial strain, especially when it comes to essential components like tyres,” Vetter added. “Avo Auto Care is designed to ease this burden, ensuring that our clients can conveniently keep their vehicles safe and roadworthy without compromising their financial well-being.”

While the current focus of Avo Auto Care is on tyres, plans are in place to expand the service to include other essential vehicle components such as shock absorbers, brakes, and batteries. This expansion is expected to provide MFC clients with comprehensive support to keep their vehicles in optimal condition.

One-stop solution

As Vetter explained, “Our goal is to create a one-stop solution for vehicle maintenance needs, and this initiative is just the beginning of our plans to make vehicle ownership and maintenance more manageable and cost-effective for South Africans.”

The Avo Auto Care offering is currently available to all MFC clients, with future plans to extend the service to other vehicle owners who may prefer to pay cash. The availability of finance is subject to client affordability and creditworthiness, and tyre availability is based on the specific needs of each vehicle.
