Opening doors in Limpopo with Wellness Drive career day

For many of these learners, exposure to different paths will be the first time they see what’s possible beyond the classroom.

On 27 September, learners in Sibasa will get a closer look at what their futures could hold.

Wellness Drive, through its Dream Catcher initiative, is teaming up with Vhadzwda Extra Classes to host a career day in Thohoyandou.

The goal is simple: give grade 9 to 12 learners and their parents real, practical insight into different career paths. Not through long speeches, but through conversations.

Professionals will set up stalls where learners can ask questions, see tools of the trade, and get a feel for what those jobs look like in practice.

What makes this career day different

Instead of rows of brochures and vague promises, learners will find vision boards, insider insight into their career options, and even a breakdown of the tools used on the job.

The organisers want students to see, touch, and imagine.

Each professional has been asked to share not only the highlights of their career but also the hard parts. That way learners can weigh the reality against the dream before making big study or career decisions.

Wilma Marindile from Wellness Drive said the aim is to help learners make informed choices.

“We want them to walk away knowing the requirements, the training, and even the challenges. The good and the bad,” she explains in the lead-up to the event.

Why it matters

Career decisions shape futures. It’s as simple as that.

For many of these learners, exposure to different paths will be the first time they see what’s possible beyond the classroom.

Whether it’s health, media, business, or trades, the day is designed to broaden horizons and spark ambition.

Events like this matter because they give learners and parents space to explore careers together. They also connect schools, professionals, and communities in ways that can create lasting mentorships.

The event runs from 10:00 am to 15:00 pm at Vhadzwda Extra Classes on Mvelaphanda Street, Sibasa. For more information, contact Wilma Marindile on info@wellnessdrive.co.za
