Huawei Cloud made a significant impact at MWC Barcelona 2025, unveiling a suite of new cloud services and solutions under the theme “Accelerate Intelligence, Amplify Success.”
The event brought together industry leaders from the carrier, finance, internet, and government sectors, reinforcing Huawei’s commitment to AI-native innovation and digital transformation across industries.
Huawei Cloud at MWC 2025
Jacqueline Shi, president of Huawei Cloud Global Marketing and Sales Service, emphasised the company’s direction.
“Huawei Cloud always puts AI as the company’s core strategy, and by transitioning from cloud-native to AI-native, Huawei Cloud leads the industry with non-stop innovation.”
She further detailed the company’s approach, divided into two key areas:
- AI for Cloud: Transforming all Huawei Cloud services into intelligent solutions
- Cloud for AI: Providing a robust AI development platform with advanced compute architecture, model tools, and professional services
Huawei Cloud’s global expansion continues, with the company reporting over 50% growth outside of China in 2024.
The company now partners with over 140 carriers and 500 financial institutions to support their digital transformation.
Advancing AI-native infrastructure
Also at MWC 2025, Bruno Zhang, CTO of Huawei Cloud, outlined Huawei Cloud’s AI-native evolution.
“The foundation of achieving AI-native lies in being cloud native. Over the past few years, Huawei Cloud has focused on assisting businesses in effectively going to, using, and managing cloud through cloud-native means.”
Huawei Cloud is advancing AI-native infrastructure with new solutions, including:
- CloudMatrix and AI Cloud Service: New AI-native cloud infrastructure
- Databases and Knowledge Lakes: AI-enhanced data intelligence solutions
- AI DevOps and AI Models: Tools enabling businesses to train and run AI models efficiently
AI-powered solutions for industries
Huawei also introduced several industry-specific AI solutions designed to accelerate enterprise cloud adoption and intelligent automation.
- For carriers: Hybrid cloud for IT and B2B, a Cloud Device solution to unify applications, and KooGallery, a marketplace for ecosystem development
- For governments: Huawei Cloud Pangu government model, aPaaS, and big data services powering the transition from e-Government to smart governance
- For finance: The Digital Core solution replaces mainframes, while the Pangu finance model enhances customer service and data analysis
- For media and entertainment: Intelligent interaction solutions like CDN & Cloud Live, Cloud Media Edge, and MetaStudio optimise content generation
- For retail: AI-driven smart store solutions provide real-time data insights, smart order prediction, and digital shop assistants
- For automotive: Huawei Cloud IoV and autonomous driving enhance safety, smart manufacturing, and supply chain efficiency
Customer success stories
Huawei Cloud’s solutions are already delivering tangible business benefits across industries. For instance, Spanish travel tech company TravelgateX has leveraged Huawei Cloud to streamline operations.
“TravelgateX leveraged Huawei’s cloud native solution to accelerate program development, simplify deployment, and scale its infrastructure. This resulted in significant cost savings of 20 per cent and improved overall performance by 35 per cent,” said Iñaki Fuentes, COO of TravelgateX.
Meanwhile, Telkom Indonesia is working closely with Huawei Cloud on digital transformation.
“We have signed a strategic cooperation memorandum with Huawei on data centers, cloud services, digital technologies, and big data to transform into a digital carrier for a thriving digital ecosystem in Indonesia,” said Fajrin Rasyid, chief digital innovation officer of Telkom Indonesia.
Turkish e-commerce player Hepsiburada has also seen major improvements after migrating to Huawei Cloud.
“We have seen significant improvements after migrating our search service to Huawei Cloud, achieving a 50-fold increase in platform throughput, a 95 per cent reduction in service response time, and a 150 per cent boost in bandwidth usage,” said Mustafa Kemal Erișen, IT head of Hepsiburada.
