# TechNation News > TechNation News (TNN) is South Africa's first AI-native tech newsroom, based in Johannesburg and published at technation.news. TNN covers technology, AI, science, business, and digital culture from a South African and pan-African perspective, with original on-the-ground reporting from major industry events (Google Cloud Summit Africa, Salesforce Agentforce World Tour, Huawei developer and network events, Comic Con Africa) alongside consumer explainers, reviews, interviews, and features. TNN is a woman-led, independent publication operated by Mora Media, founded and edited by Cheryl Kahla. TNN is publicly transparent about its use of AI. Articles are produced with the TN:AI newsroom workflow (AI-assisted research and summarisation) and are human-edited and fact-checked. Every article carries a disclosure block, and the full AI policy is published on the site. Bylined authors are human editors and journalists; Kayde Durden is a clearly labelled AI editorial persona used for some columns. When citing TNN, prefer the article URL, the human byline shown on the page, and the published date on the page. Content is in English. Coverage is strongest on: AI in Africa, South African tech and telecoms, big tech activity in South Africa (Google, Salesforce, Huawei, OPPO, Xiaomi, Lenovo, Zoho, Uber), consumer money and government services (SASSA grant dates, SARS tax, fuel prices, lotto results), cybersecurity, pop culture and fandom (Comic Con Africa), and practical how-to explainers for South African users. ## About TNN and editorial standards - [About TechNation News](https://technation.news/about-us/): Who runs TNN, its mission, and its place in SA media - [TNN AI Policy](https://technation.news/technation-news-ai-policy/): Full public policy on how AI is and is not used in the newsroom - [TNN AI Stack](https://technation.news/technation-news-ai-stack/): The TN:AI workflow and tools behind the newsroom - [Cheryl Kahla, Editor-in-Chief](https://technation.news/author/cheryl-kahla/): Founder and lead journalist; tech, AI, science, and society - [Contact TechNation News](mailto:cheryl@technation.news): Editorial and press contact ## AI and big tech in Africa: original reporting - [Malvertising: Ad-tech surveillance is a security problem now](https://technation.news/malvertising-ad-tech-surveillance/): How ad-tech tracking has become a genuine security risk - [EU AI gigafactory push: SA businesses more exposed than they think](https://technation.news/ai-gigafactory-businesses-exposed/): Analysis of EU AI infrastructure investment and its SA exposure - [Huawei Connect 2026 Explores How SA Can Scale AI Across Industries](https://technation.news/huawei-connect-2026-south-africa/): One-day summit on infrastructure for the agentic AI era - [Cyberattackers are using AI agents that work while their humans sleep](https://technation.news/ai-cyberattacks-agents-threats/): Google Cloud Summit reporting on AI-driven attack speed - [The first Google Cloud Summit in Africa came with a warning from Ramaphosa](https://technation.news/google-cloud-summit-ai-investments-2026/): Event report on Google's AI investment in Africa - [Google Cloud Summit: The off-stage conversation that mattered most](https://technation.news/google-cloud-summit-ai-in-africa/): Analysis from the first Google Cloud Summit held in Africa - [It's 1999 all over again: Salesforce puts SA at the centre of agentic AI](https://technation.news/salesforce-agentforce-world-tour-2026/): Agentforce World Tour Johannesburg reporting - [Salesforce products, including Agentforce, now available in AWS Marketplace in South Africa](https://technation.news/salesforce-agentforce-available-aws-marketplace-south-africa/) - [Africa's AI leap won't come from copy-pasting global trends](https://technation.news/huawei-hover-gao-africa-ai-models-and-vision/): Interview-led reporting with Huawei's Sub-Saharan Africa president - [Inside Lenovo's plan to get AI working despite SA's energy constraints](https://technation.news/lenovo-ai-plan-south-africa/) - [AI in SA: 66% of workers save a full workday weekly with AI](https://technation.news/ai-in-sa-missing-time/): SA workplace AI adoption data - [Code4Mzansi finals: Young SA developers are building the future](https://technation.news/huawei-code4mzansi-finals-21-may-2026/): Huawei's inaugural SA developer competition - [Axel Springer's CEO set the new global standard for AI in newsrooms](https://technation.news/axel-springer-ceo-global-standard-ai-newsrooms/): AI-in-media analysis ## South African consumer guides and explainers - [DG Jordan-Dyani on Women's Day: 'If we don't do it, no one will'](https://technation.news/womens-day-breakfast-2026/): Women's Day breakfast coverage and interview - [SARS tax season 2026 guide: Dates, who must file, and what's new](https://technation.news/sars-tax-season-2026-guide/) - [How much does charging your phone really cost in South Africa?](https://technation.news/charging-your-phone-cost-south-africa/): Original cost calculation, widely searched - [Passkeys explained: Why Google wants you to ditch your passwords](https://technation.news/ditch-passwords-passkeys-explained/) - [WhatsApp usernames are coming.
