FNB customers who shop at Pick n Pay now have a new way to cut costs on the most necessary groceries. This follows a partnership between FNB’s eBucks rewards programme and Pick n Pay, that will allow certain customers to earn discounts and cashback on their purchases.
Bread for 99c: A way to reduce grocery costs
One of the biggest savings is for FNB Easy account holders. Each time they use their FNB Easy debit card at Pick n Pay, they will get a voucher to buy a 600g loaf of bread for just 99c.
Customers can collect up to four vouchers per month, offering quite a bit of savings for households that buy bread regularly.

However, certain rules apply:
- The voucher is given only when an FNB Easy debit card is swiped at Pick n Pay.
- The voucher can only be used on the next visit.
- The discount can only be used on Pick n Pay Bakery’s white or brown bread (600g) (so not Albany or Sasko bread).
- A maximum of four vouchers can only be given each month.
This benefit may help with some relief for customers who have tight grocery budgets.
Benefits for other FNB customers
The partnership extends beyond bread, with other benefits depending on the type of FNB account you have:
- FNB Premier Customers: Earn up to 30% back in eBucks on purchases made through Pick n Pay’s asap! delivery service and up to 20% back on in-store purchases, including at Pick n Pay Clothing and Liquor stores.
- FNB Aspire Customers: Receive R150 in eBucks vouchers each month for purchases made in-store, through asap!, or at Pick n Pay Clothing.
- Business Owners: Small and medium enterprises banking with FNB can earn up to 30% back in eBucks on asap! orders and up to 20% back on in-store purchases, including office supplies, cleaning products, and cafeteria items.
How does eBucks work?
eBucks is FNB’s rewards programme, offering customers points (eBucks) whenever they spend their money by swiping their FNB card. They get points for the swipe. These points can be used to buy other goods, services, or even to reduce FNB account fees.
To qualify for eBucks, customers must hold a certain FNB account. The more they spend using an FNB card from this account, the more eBucks they accumulate. Points can only be used at FNB’s partner stores, just like Pick n Pay, or used for travel and entertainment.
Is eBucks worth it?
For regular Pick n Pay shoppers, this partnership may help with some savings. However, as with most rewards programmes, the benefits are only really worth it for those who already shop at these stores. Customers who do not always purchase from Pick n Pay may find the rewards less useful.
The partnership aims to help consumers manage rising living costs by helping with savings on groceries and essentials. FNB customers are encouraged to check their spending habits and see whether these benefits works with their shopping routines. As with any rewards programme, it is important to avoid unnecessary spending just to earn points.
By understanding how eBucks works and making thought-out use of available offers, customers may stretch their budgets further in challenging economic times.
