Gemini is designed to be a versatile tool that aids businesses in decision-making and performance enhancement.
How Gemini differs from a normal google search
Unlike traditional search engines, Gemini offers a sophisticated approach to handling prompts, providing responses that include text, images, sounds, and videos. This multimodal capability allows users to interact with the AI in a more intuitive and effective manner.
Yvette Baez, Google’s Business Strategist for AI, provided insights into how Gemini can be leveraged across different business functions. She emphasized the model’s potential in areas such as research, content creation, operations, strategy, and marketing. Baez remarked on the transformative impact of AI, noting that it has evolved from a theoretical concept into a practical asset for businesses. “AI now offers a multisensory experience, delivering information through visual, auditory, and even video formats,” she said. “Our work focuses on developing products that address business challenges and enhance operational efficiency.”
Cloud customers and developers
Google has expanded access to its AI tools with several key updates. Gemini 1.5 Pro is now available in Vertex AI, catering to cloud customers and developers. Additionally, the introduction of Open Model Gemma supports various coding tasks, enhancing coding efficiency and security threat detection through the upgraded Gemini Code Assist.
Enhancements have also been made to Gemini’s integration with Google Workspace. The AI can now summarize content, answer questions, and generate information across Gmail, Meet, and Chat. It also draws data from a range of Google services, including Flights, Hotels, Maps, and YouTube, providing comprehensive support for business executives.
Google’s commitment extends beyond business applications, addressing real-world challenges across Africa. Initiatives include aiding farmers with accurate food security predictions, improving disaster response through precise information for flood mitigation, and offering advanced tools for advertisers to generate product recommendations in diverse contexts.
The AI in Action event underscored Google’s broader goal of using AI to drive economic growth and innovation while tackling pressing issues on the continent.
