Cape Town’s music and arts scene came alive this past weekend with Spotify’s Mother of Music (MOM) event series. From District Six to Khayelitsha, the event saw a whirlwind of performances, creativity, and cultural exchange, drawing music lovers and creatives from across the city.

The three-day event kicked off on Friday with an energetic party at Texas, hosted by KDOLLAHZ. Partygoers were treated to DJ sets from Cape Town favorites DJ Portia and DJ Chello, with a voguing session by The House of Le Cap that left attendees in awe. “The energy in the room was electric,” said a local attendee. The DJ sets drew inspiration from 80s and 90s hits, creating a nostalgic yet fresh atmosphere that kept the dance floor alive all night.
